Joy to the World
Christmas at Downton Abbey*
Joy to the World wurde von Isaac Watts, einem bekannten Verfasser von Kirchenliedern, verfaßt und 1719 erstmals veröffentlicht. Der Komponist der als 'Antioch' bekannten Melodie ist unbekannt. Oft wird Händel als Urheber vermutet, wahrscheinlich verwendete der Komponist jedoch nur Fragmente Händels.
Es gibt viele Textvarianten und zahllose Einspielungen des Weihnachtslieds, zu deren bekanntesten sicher die Version von Mariah Carey gehört.
