Christmas at Downton Abbey*
Hark! The Herald Angels sing stammt von Charles Wesley. Der Text wurde 1739 in 'Hymns and Sacred Poems' veröffentlicht und später von George Whitefield leicht geändert. Die Melodie war anfangs die Melodie 'Amazing Grace' bzw. 'Christ the Lord is risen today'. Heute wird das Lied zu einer Melodie von Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy, die von William H. Cummings adaptiert wurde, gesungen. Diese ähnelt stark der Gavotte aus der Orchestersuite Nr. 4 von Johann Sebastian Bach.
Das Weihnachtslied wird als Abschlusslied des berühmten Weihnachtsgottesdienstes A Festival of nine Lessons and Carols am King's College in Cambridge gesungen
